Health and Wellness
Canon Medical provides medical insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. Two medical plans are offered to employees to choose the coverage that works best for their individual situations. Both plans include 100% coverage on all preventative care.
Canon Medical provides dental insurance through Delta Dental of Minnesota. Canon Medical’s plan includes 100% coverage on all preventive care, as well as partial coverage on basic and major services, including orthodontia.
Canon Medical employees that elect the dental plan are eligible to participate in the HearPO program, which offers hearing discounts at no additional cost. Through HearPO, members can take advantage of many savings and benefits.
Employees at Canon Medical are covered by company-paid basic life insurance and AD&D. Additional or supplemental life insurance may also be purchased by the employee for self and family coverage.
Both short term and long term disability insurance are paid for by Canon Medical.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
Canon Medical provides employees with the opportunity to participate in flexible spending account plans to pay for out-of-pocket medical and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars.
Health Savings Account (HSA)
Canon Medical offers the option to participate in an individually owned account to set aside tax-free money for out-of-pocket medical, dental and vision expenses. Employees that elect the High Deductible Health Plan will receive a contribution from Canon Medical to give their Health Savings Account a starting balance.
Canon Medical offers vision insurance through EyeMed Vision Care for prescription glasses, frames and contacts for employees and their family members. Laser vision correction discounts are also included with the coverage.
Canon Medical offers pet insurance with a 5% discount through VPI with the option to pay through payroll deductions or direct billing. The insurance options cover a wide range of pets.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Canon Medical provides employees with access to free confidential services through Lincoln Financial and Blue Cross Blue Shield. EAP consultants can provide you with help or resources for work and personal needs that you may access via telephone or online.
Canon Medical has a wellness program supported by the ShapeUp platform. This is a fun way for Canon Medical employees to reach their personal health goals and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Employees can get a pedometer to track physical activity and they can earn prizes, including additional HSA contributions.
On-Site Workout Facility
Canon Medical has an on-site workout facility. Choose from treadmills or elliptical machines, weight machines and free weights. There are also locker rooms and showers available.
Health Club Benefit
Canon Medical employees that are covered under the Blue Cross Blue Shield medical coverage are eligible for a subsidy towards membership dues at several fitness centers.
Yoga classes are taught in-house once a week by a professional yoga instructor. Yoga is available to all employees at no charge.
Canon Medical offers chair massages onsite every Friday, splitting the cost with employees to make it a great deal.
Flu shots are given annually, on-site, to all employees covered under our medical insurance plan who wish to be vaccinated.
Canon Medical hosts an annual on-site AED/CPR training course conducted by the American Red Cross.
Canon Medical provides fresh fruit daily throughout the office.
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
Canon Medical is a drop-off site for a local CSA farmer. Employees may purchase a full or half share in the harvest, or they may split a share with another employee. For eighteen weeks (June – October), once each week, produce is picked and packed at the farm and delivered to Canon Medical.
There is a deli at the Canon Medical Informatics headquarters that offers fresh and healthy food options at reasonable prices.
Time Off for Your Health and Wellness
Canon Medical encourages employees to use vacation time to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Employees accrue 17 days of vacation per year and once an employee has been with the company for five years, they will then accrue 22 days of vacation each year.
Employees are given fixed paid holidays each calendar year.
Paid Parental Leave
Both new mothers and fathers are given one week of paid parental leave following the birth or adoption of a child. This is in addition to the six or eight weeks of maternity leave (STD) given to new mothers.
Canon Medical offers a 401(k) retirement program, along with a company match – currently $0.50 for each $1.00 you contribute up to the first 6% of your compensation. Canon Medical offers both traditional and Roth 401(k) contribution options.
Canon Medical offers a retirement planning resource through Smart 401(k). This resource helps Canon Medical employees create a retirement plan that fits their needs, providing online planning features and access to retirement planning experts.
Education and Development
Canon Medical provides tuition reimbursement for regular, full-time employees wishing to pursue post-secondary education to increase their competencies in their current position or likely future positions at Canon Medical.

Canon Medical encourages employees to volunteer their time in the community. All full-time employees are eligible for up to 24 hours of paid time per year for eligible volunteer service.
The Mother’s Room
Canon Medical has a dedicated room for nursing mothers.
Our employees and their immediate family members who travel over 100 miles from home are offered special protection services through this special program. Services include worldwide destination intelligence, document replacement assistance (for lost or stolen documents), emergency medical evacuation and transportation, emergency security evacuation, and more.

Dry Cleaning Delivery Service
Pilgrim Cleaners will pick up and drop off your laundry/dry cleaning items. Delivery services are free and Canon Medical employees receive additional discounts on items cleaned.
